Billie Joe Armstrong thinks new U.S. President-elect Donald Trump may be “a puppet for the Illuminati’s own agenda”.
The Green Day frontman hasn’t held back with his views on the Republican politician, who defied the odds to beat Hillary Clinton in the race to the White House. And Armstrong continued being frank when he revealed his thoughts about Trump’s victory.
Speaking on British station Radio X on Thursday (10Nov16), the rocker said he thought Trump “could be a puppet for the (Illuminatiโs) own agenda, which is even scarier. But Iโm not going to go down the scary mode right now because itโs early in the morning!”
The Illuminati is a conspiratorial outfit, real and fictitious, that allegedly masterminds world affairs, by controlling governments and huge corporations.
Armstrong also described his reaction to waking up on Wednesday to news that Trump had emerged victorious.
“I went to bed and everyone kinda thought the correct side was going to win,” he said. “Then at 6am I wake up choking โ like this is kinda gross, like when you inhale spit โ so Iโm thinking โOh my god why am I coughing?’
“And of course the first thing I do is think โIโll check and see what happenedโ. So I go to my phone and I look and I have 50 messages. And I was like โthis is not goodโ. โCause usually I get four every day. All my friends and family were freaked out because they just elected a fascist into the White House for the first time in American history. Itโs all sinking in right now.”
Asked if he had anything he wanted to say to his fellow Americans in the wake of Trump winning the election, Armstrong replied: “Treat each other with respect and kindness and love.”
